£55k ‘Bugatti Veyron’ up for grabs

This is not a real Bugatti Veyron. It is a fake. A charlatan. But can you guess what’s underneath?

A gentleman in Florida has eschewed the traditional methods of obtaining a supercar (money/inheritance/theft) and gone the route of I'll-forego-a social-life-and-build-it-myself.

No doubt you have seen such attempts before, so we'll leave you to judge the fruit of this young gentlemen's endeavours (hint: it's not fooling us). Mike Duff, 25, spent nine months transforming a ‘something' into the famous 1,000bhp powerhouse.

The Florida native made a fibreglass composite body with a tubular steel frame glassed onto it, and reskinned the inside with as much bovine as he could lay his spannery hands on. It's even got rear seats, something the real Bug can't boast.

Underneath the bonnet sits a 2.5-litre V6 engine that by his own admission is "fast enough". But exactly what is this ‘something' underneath? Yes, you can click through to his eBay page and find out, but before you do, have a guess. Go on...
