The job of validating Jaguar for future generations goes on. But while the new XJ's exterior blasts the brand into outer space, the real genius is inside. We don't drive the XJ for another month or two, but we've sat in it and we'd still be there now if we could.
The XJ is all about impact. It's a big car, but you sit low in it and close to the steering wheel. The immediate effect is one of sporty intimacy rather than stuffy wing-backed luxury. Imagine Usain Bolt in a pair of Oliver Sweeney brogues.
