Joy of souks: new Jag XJ hits Morocco
Top Gear magazine’s new longterm XJ subjected to the ultimate initiation: Africa's High Atlas mountains

A single-ish carriageway (sometimes barely a Jag's-worth), with traffic in both directions, and gut-wrenching drops off the sides. Sides that crumble. Add to that trucks coming the other way, at intervals long enough to make you forget that trucks actually come the other way. Sand-riddled hairpins that cause the big Jag to understeer towards nothing but sky, the traction control groaning and chittering alarmingly. In a fit of bravado, I switch the stability control and traction off, to see what would happen. The next few corners are both scary and tremendously entertaining, though when I next look at Barry I could swear he's weeping.
