It did get better for a while. Leave Marrakech and you'll be gently impressed with the arrow-straight two-lane roads that head towards the Atlas, perforating the forward view like a set of dirty, broken teeth. The road surface is good, and although you have to watch out for random herds of goats and driving styles that range from the ineffective to the actually murderous and/or suicidal, you can crack along at a respectable pace. At least you can in a Jag.
