James thrashes new Fiesta and Polo

Out on the road, it soon becomes clear that the Fiesta is, nevertheless, better. Its four-cylinder engine gives more immediate access to what power there is here, and when worked it is more refined. It runs on surprisingly low-profile tyres for a boggo little car, yet its ride is generally more composed than that of the Polo, which has more regularly proportioned rubber.
This really did surprise me, because when I looked at the Ford's wheels I assumed it would be yet another triumph of fashion over basic physics, and would ride like a pig, and yet it doesn't. I've spent a lot of time ranting on about this sort of thing so I was quite depressed to discover I've been talking utter cock for years and years.
