For the German GP, Dan Read joined Lotus Racing to see what life was really like in F1. He’s back in the office now – bruised, battered and still a little bit sweaty. We'll start with a special moment. Here's chief mechanic Phil Spencer placing a wreath at the Jim Clark memorial. Clark - a double world champion for Lotus in '63 and '65 - lost his life at Hockenheim in 1968 while driving a Lotus F2 car.
