Aside from the guff, the Shinari is a peek at what Mazdas of the future will look like. The front wings are an evolution of the outgoing RX-8s, while the front and rear bumpers were designed to optimise the flow of air along the underbody.
The whole body was designed to look like a creature about to attack, and this includes the headlamps which have no outer lens “suggesting the eyes of a wild animal about to pounce”.
