And it really doesn't matter whether the car has four seats or two, or a decent boot, or any of the other things that, when all's said and done, can be had in £15,000-worth of Ford hatchback. It has to have that indefinable magic that comes from so much more than pure quantifiable performance, and the Panamera somehow doesn't. It's why we decided we'd prefer a Quattroporte. The Porsche is a superior car, but the Maserati is nicer, and that's better.
Rounding the bend and seeing Zanzibar bungalow hove into view, we noticed there was no red van anywhere to be seen. This was encouraging, though meaningless. We leapt from the fetid confines of the Porsche and sprinted to the door, again as if this would actually make any difference. The letter was either there, or it wasn't.
It was. And it had been opened. That's all I want to say about it.
So, Porsche Panamera - great car, but a bit of a waste of money. Stamps on the other hand - bloody bargain.
