Ten of the wildest Lamborghini concepts
The reveal of a new Lambo is always a great day. Time to reflect on its wildest creations

The history of Lamborghini isn't worth repeating here, because as paid up members of the Internet Enthusiasts Club, you'll know it already: Ferruccio wanted to outdo Ferrari, created his own brand of supercars, which ended up being renowned for outlandishness and extravagance.
Last year, the brand celebrated 50 years since Ferruccio Lamborghini made those first tentative steps into the supercar fraternity, and current CEO Stephan Winkelmann wanted to honour the great man with a car befitting the brand. Enter the Lamborghini Egoista.
It is a Lamborghini Gallardo like no other: underneath sits a modified version of that lovely 5.2-litre V10 packing a nice round 600bhp. On top however, is Lamborghini's version of a Batmobile.
It's got anti-radar stealth material, carbon fibre and aluminium. There are shades of an Apache helicopter and side flanks designed like "a bull preparing to charge, horns lowered." In short, it is mad. Good mad, though.
Lamborghini recently announced that this Egoista is to go on permanent display in its museum for public consumption, which is good. What's also good is the company's new Asterion GT, announced today at the Paris Motor Show: a lovely swoopy slab of 907bhp petrol-electric GT.
A fine time then, to relive some of Lamborghini's wilder concept car moments.
So, strap yourself down and enter the wild world of a Lamborghini designer's mind. It's a scary place...
