The new issue of Top Gear magazine is out in the shops today, and it’s the big one: the massive performance car shootout that we call... The Stig Showdown.

It went a bit like this: gather together nearly a dozen of the greatest fast cars on sale today – including the Lambo Murcielago SV, McLaren SLR Stirling Moss, Porsche 911 GT3 and Audi R8 V10 – and take them on the ultimate British road trip... ending up at the Top Gear test track for a final thrashing in the hands of the Stig.
