And it was good. If you still believe electric cars have limited range, try this. My 50-mile section of the drive, never knowingly dropping below the speed limit, hardly made a dent in the range. In fact, the car did 175 miles today, and could have done another 175.
That's because although it's always propelled by an electric motor, it can get its energy either from the grid or from petrol. The mains charges up a battery that gets it 40 miles or so, and then a 1.4-litre engine cuts in and generates the current to keep the wheels turning.
