A quick nose around the engine bay shows two things very clearly: one, that the fit and finish on this early car is exceptionally good, even down to the gold-foil heat insulation and two, that the twin-turbo V8 is a very big engine in quite a small car. That motor, as well as over 1,000bhp, shoves out very nearly a grand's worth of lb ft, and that gearbox looks a long way out at the back. The physics of a pendulum flare in my head, just for a second. It's enough.
