Mainly because we've just rounded the first couple of corners and the straight is dead ahead. A short straight on the Stowe circuit. And when I hit the power full-on for the first time, the horizon snaps forward like a picturesque headbutt. Second. Third. Fourth. Silly speeds. Light swearing, a massive gush of boost that literally launches the Venom at the bottom left-hander, cut short by a low rev limiter until the engine can be properly run in.
My God this is fast now, just imagine what it'll be like when the boost is up and the full clock is available. Then I remember the brakes and am forced to stand on them. Ooops. John is a rock, significantly failing to shout, cry or ask to get out. Back off, and a jet of flame leaps a few feet from the exhausts, lighting up the back of the car in the rear-view mirror.
Ah. It's got an afterburner.
