In fact, the only thing that driving the Venom in such an early form has done is make me want to drive it more. And harder. And tweak it, and then drive it again. Sheer power isn't the issue. Don't forget, Hennessey is the man who engineered a Viper to beat a Veyron by roughly four seconds in a 0-200mph drag race. But the Venom is a complex, lightweight, different sort of car. The Veyron has set the bar for a car in which you can deploy nearly 1,000bhp with relative ease. It is a technological masterpiece. The Venom is a different thing, more visceral, more intense, massively more scary. When it has been strapped down and sorted, this will be a car for the big boys, rather than the playboys.
