That veritable feast of going Really Fast Up A Hill kicks off next weekend with the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Mr Goodwood - Lord March - throws open the doors to his country mansion to allow peasants and the great unwashed an opportunity to bathe in the metally glory of horsepower, oil, and body odour. Some celebrities turn up too, though they're usually kept away from said peasants.

And this year, Porsche is giving showgoers a real eyeful - by parading a collection of its vintage racing cars alongside newer stuff which doesn't require the use of racing goggles and a flat-cap to drive.
