Im from Tasmania, Australia. I actually missed this part of the episode on tv but now watched it. Got pretty excited coz I have a Mercedes 180e 1993. It has been passed through the family sice bought off the show room floor and I've now had it for bout 4months which I bought off my sister for $2500 only coz i'm family but I truly believe I had bought a bargin! It is navy blue and is an automatic. I love it! It has real power when you need it and also can sit on the limit real well, and makes you feel safe, its like driving a tank it stays on the road unlike other cars where the handling is so touchy and what a corner hugger this car is absolutly brilliant. Just thought i'd share my own thoughts as its like having a baby you just cant shut up about it! ;-) Catherine.

I want to report this comment for:

These cars are just about to break and will be very expensive to repair. The VW may be ok, but the Benz will be very expensive and may not have replacement parts for that rare powerplant.

I am a fan of the "off" sort of cars. My favorite is the Subaru SVX. Their resale value has dropped considerably over the past few years. If you can get used to the strange look of it and the "half glass" windows, you will find a touring coupe with Cadillac comforts, wicked speed, and spot on handling. For drivers, a good value all around, and sure to come back as a classic or collectible in the next 10 to 15 years.

It’s flat-out brilliant. It simply steamrollers any rational argument against it
