I think its a great idea the only thing I dont get is how come all these hydrogen and electric cars have to look so corny...they cant think if a cooler sportier design? common what a bunch of idiots!

What concerns me is - where does the hydrogen come from? RIght now, the hydrogen that is the same price as gasoline comes from a water-gas shift reaction of natural gas - which produces CO2. So while CO2 does not come out the exhaust... it comes out a smokestack somewhere else instead...

The FCX was a somewhat racy design compared to the Clarity. Looked sort of like a maroon komodo dragon. Most early electric cars were were either very mundane or reworked existing designs like a VW Golf. Then came the Tesla. The design and varieties will get there. First they have to make it workable. So far, it makes monumentally more sense than hybrids or battery powered. The Tesla and it's ilk are only part time cars. It takes more time to recharge them than it does to discharge them and road trips are out of the question. Not so with Hydrogen. The lack of any toxic exhaust will more than make up for the hydrogen production pollution once hydrogen cars are in common use.

A very necessary idea for cleaning up heavily polluted areas such Los Angles ,that suffers so much from temperature inversion. A technology not needed in the UK except as a gismo with the exception of perhaps London. Which is why all the latest clean car technologies always appear in California. ( one of the few good initiatives by President Bush) As for carbon pollution the car is zero which we all understand but the car is known in engineering circles as the "The Pollute three times more elsewhere car". Can the Greens live with that? not if their honest!
