I test drove An SLR here in the Philippines and believe me it is better to look at from a distance than actually driving it here in bad traffic But it is very Luxurious

Surprised about the route. Nobody would choose to go via the "afsluitdijk" in the north of the Netherlands, unless he would like to choose the scenic route. Seems as if they used some rural roads as well. It is much more efficient and faster to avoid the Randstad (Rotterdam, Amsterdam) and try to reach Germany as fast as possible, just heading straight east. Cross the border at Maastricht/Aachen. Or at least Enschede. Then head north, especially between Münster and Bremen the SLR could've used all of his power. Ok, not today, with all the construction works going on, but when this was filmed, it was one of the most relaxed parts of the whole journey. Would've saved him about 100 miles and 1 to 2 hours.

Jeremy, I did 1500km from Riga to Kiev in less than 22 hours w/o a sleep and including 5 hours on the Polish/Ukrainian border. Alone. I'm better than you :)). But, then, after having some bottle of wine and couple of hours for a sleep I did it again - back from Kiev to Riga - in 20 hours, including border procedures.. More than 3000 km in less than 3 days. On BMW Series 1. I sure I can race against you and your Mc Merc and I will win :)) The last race I did - more than 1200 km around Armenia, including front line between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Anyway, fan of TopGear, the best show about cars ever :))

@harraps He never could use all of the power, there's a film crew in a Range Rover driving along with him. Ofcourse he could put the peddle down a little bit but the film crew has to be able to keep up with him
