i love the train as it is brand new. it may well be steam but yes its actually an LNER Peppercorn A1. and that is something i didn't expect top gear to ever feature

".. did 126, don't you know" Oh, is that right? Then you don't even have to do the race! Jaguar has already lost against steam, against LNER steam that is, since their A4 'Mallard' did 126 mph a couple of years earlier. And while she was wearing out her main rod bearings on the need for speed run, so did the Jag engines for years to come if they were unduly pressed. But anyways, let's see the competition - it may get you wondering as railway main lines are laid out exceedingly straight on to their destination and trains may not accelerate all that rapidly, yet they keep traveling at speed!
