On the word 'stoker' - that became a synonym for what this engine really doesn't have: a mechanical device for firing. The man who did the job by hand was colloquially called a fire man. Larger US steam had mechanical --> stoker firing throughout since it was plain impossible for any man to place better than 4 tons/h of coal onto the grate for hours on end on long trips. This engine was new built closely following historical drawings of the Peppercorn A1 of 1948 - thus inevitably including some - e-hm - minor historical design flaws. Well they couldn't have been but minor, since the A1 was a British design and the Brits, as we all know, were the very inventors of the steam locomotive and in that way of railroading in general! A good head of steam to A1 'Tornado' on pleasant trips to come! = J =
