The Mini is an excellent hatch, but does it have to be so grown up?

A cute, fine little convertible. Although the emphasis is on the little: the boot is tiny and the interior packaging is odd.

It’s not that the ASX is truly bad by any stretch of the imagination, it’s just that its competition is newer. And better.
At a stretch, we can see a point to the 4WD versions, but really though, this is an unnecessary diversion. And not a very pretty one, either.
The X5 or XC90 may defeat it over tarmac and the Disco's better balanced on/off road, but if you need to tow a tank, the Shogun is what you need.
Expensive, slow, horrid to drive. A mass of metal without sense or relish or ability or anything, really.
