The Top Gear car review:Seat Leon ST

Overall verdict
Only the interior isn't as good as the Golf. Beyond that, there's not a lot to split the Leon ST.

Fantastic build quality, excellent refinement, very practical

Slightly utilitarian but not a lot else

What is it?

The estate version of the Seat Leon is essentially the same as a Golf Estate, only it looks a bit different. It’s also worse inside, but costs a lot less. Underneath, and under the bonnet, it’s more or less identical, and sits on the same MQB architecture you’d find under a load of stuff from the Volkswagen Group (A3, Octavia, Golf) and so on. There’s even a load-lugging version of the Seat Leon Cupra hot hatch, and a crossover in the shape of the Seat Leon X-Perience.
