The Top Gear car review:Peugeot 308 GTI

Running costs and reliability

Peugeot 308 GTI front

There’s a lot to like, but then the price becomes a real problem. The £28,455 Peugeot wants for it is strong money when Ford sells the bonkers RS for just a couple of grand more, and a Renaultsport Megane undercuts the Pug by about £3k. It’s within a few grand of a Golf R too, and don’t forget the hardcore Honda Civic Type R either. Good as it is, it just ain’t that good.
