Good stuff
It has evolved into a timeless classic. Pleases as much today as it did the day it was born over 50 years ago
Bad stuff
Rear-seat access and space is limited; the Camaro is faster and even better handling
Overview
What is it?
The silhouette might look much the same as the first fastback pony car produced over 50 years ago. But the modern Ford Mustang is an altogether more accomplished thing than ever before. Available in three core variants – the turbo four-cylinder 310bhp EcoBoost, the 460bhp 5.0-litre V8 and the crazy, high-revving 526bhp GT350 – the Mustang stays true to its roots by being both fun, fast and inexpensive. Only now it adds a layer of sophistication that makes it more of a sports car than just a grumbling muscle car.
Our choice from the range

What's the verdict?
A great 21st century take on the classic pony car. Even though there are only three engine variant options, the Mustang is still available as a coupe or convertible. Plus there is a mile-long option list of factory upgrades and accessories, so you can tailor your ride to exactly your taste direct from the factory.
