Did you know Škoda’s founders, Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, started out with bicycles in the mid-1890s and then moved on to motorcycles in 1899? The pioneering pair then built their very first car in 1905, but it wasn’t until they received new investment, that the Škoda name arrived in the 1920s.

Over the years, everyone’s favourite Czech car manufacturer has built a reputation for clever practicality, impeccable reliability and impressive efficiency. Combine that with a modern, distinct style and plenty of tech, and you’ll arrive at where the brand is now. And when you see its multi-award-winning all-electric offering, the ENYAQ iV SUV, along with the all-new ENYAQ Coupé iV, it’s clear Škoda has brought the future to today.

So, if you’re in the market for a new company car, here are seven reasons why a Škoda EV would be the perfect choice…

The ENYAQ iV SUV was Škoda’s first purpose-built electric car when it launched back in 2020, and it immediately introduced a bold new design with a striking hexagonal front grille, LED matrix headlights, a sporty sculpted bonnet and the largest diameter wheels ever fitted as standard to a Škoda.

However, because it was designed from the ground-up to be all-electric, the neatly packaged powertrain and family SUV proportions mean the ENYAQ iV SUV is both a stylish and practical choice, with comfortable seating for five and a class-leading 585 litres of boot space.

Oh, and there’s now also the all-electric ENYAQ Coupé iV. Has your company car ever looked this good? With its handsome and aerodynamically efficient sloping roofline, this Coupé has a powerful stance, while still retaining the practicality the ENYAQ iV SUV has become known for. Plus, for even more impact on both the Coupé and SUV, there’s the optional Crystal Face, which – with no fewer than 130 LEDs – illuminates the ENYAQ iV’s grille when the headlights are on.

The ENYAQ iV SUV and ENYAQ Coupé iV come in a variety of flavours – while the SUV has 60, 80, 80SportLine Plus, 80x SportLine Plus and vRS, the Coupé has all the same apart from the 60 – with the numbers representing battery sizes (they’re 62kWh and 82kWh respectively, and that little x signifying the availability of four-wheel drive.

Both the SUV and Coupé can provide a maximum range of up to 339 miles from the 82Wh battery, and the ENYAQ iV is a relaxing, torquey and comfortable EV to drive. Plus, for those that want a little more performance, the 80x SportLine Plus sends 265PS to all four wheels for a 0-62mph time of a mere 6.9 seconds.

For the interior of your ENYAQ iV SUV or Coupé, there are several different Design Selections that are inspired by modern living environments. You can choose from ‘Loft’, ‘Lounge’, ‘Suite’ or ‘ecoSuite’, and ‘Sports’ for SportLine Plus and vRS trims, with each offering different upholstery, decorative trims, dashboard trims and interior materials, to create the perfect environment for you.

The ENYAQ iV SUV and ENYAQ Coupé iV both come with an impressive list of kit as standard. For example, a large and responsive 13-inch central touchscreen is fitted to all ENYAQ iVs and controls navigation, the dual-zone climate control, DAB digital radio and phone connectivity through Wireless Smartlink. There’s a range of additional option packages available too, which provide even more features and functionality to certain models.

But that’s not all, because behind the standard leather multifunction steering wheel is a full-colour Virtual Cockpit that displays all your driving information and can be toggled via the steering wheel to display navigation instructions, assist systems and much more.

Plus, Škoda also prides itself on the Simply Clever features, which separate all its vehicles from the rest. This is a range of gadgets that make your everyday life easier, including an ice scraper hidden in the boot door, umbrellas tucked into a storage spot in the front doors, sturdy bag hooks in the luggage compartment and a handy organiser beneath the boot floor.

Picking an all-electric Škoda as your next company car, could give you access to a salary sacrifice scheme run by your company. Salary sacrifice schemes offer an affordable way into electric car ownership, with a portion of your pre-tax earnings used to fund monthly repayments. You, as an employee, are then responsible for paying the Benefit in Kind (BiK) tax on this, but the BiK rate for EVs has been frozen at just 2 per cent of the car’s value until at least 2025. Result.

Already convinced by the Škoda ENYAQ iV? You’re not alone. The ENYAQ iV SUV picked up the highly coveted ‘Best Value Electric Car’ award at the 2022 TopGear.com Electric Awards, and since then, the SUV has won many more gongs worldwide for its bold, exciting design, class-leading practicality, and impressive efficiency.

And if all those awards weren't enough endorsement to help you sign on the dotted line (we can’t think why it wouldn’t be), then how about this? Škoda has been supplying blue light vehicles to emergency services across the world for more than 110 years, and in the UK, it currently supplies a specially modified Scala to police services, the Karoq to the NHS for ambulance duties and the Kodiaq and Karoq to fire and rescue services. This vote of confidence from our emergency services proves just how reliable and trustworthy Škoda fleet vehicles really are.
