You must see this original, unrestored Lamborghini Miura S

Click through those fantastic images above. What you see there is an almost completely original, well used and well loved two-owner Lamborghini Miura P400 S. What an incredible thing.

Our first question, though, is how does that condition make you feel? Elated that one of the fathers of the modern-day supercar has been used properly? Sad at the layer of dust that now coats the gorgeous giallo bodywork? Jealous of the person who shells out between £800,000 and £1million for the almost original example at auction?

We say almost original because those front indicators aren’t standard and neither are the Schroth four-point harnesses, but other than that, this Miura is exactly as it was when it rolled out of the factory in 1969. Even the 370bhp 3.9-litre V12 retains all of its old parts. 

Its first owner was a German man named Walter Becker, who took delivery of the car in 1971 and then parted with it just three years later. He sold it to a fellow German, Hans Peter Weber of Freiburg, who cherished the S and drove it on special occasions right up until his death in 2015. After Hans’s death, his brother parked the Miura up in the very garage it still resides in – hence the dusty exterior and slightly ragged interior. 

We’ll stop talking now and you can go back to gawping at those images. The only thing left to say about the Gandini-designed icon is that it’ll be sold at RM Sotheby’s London auction later this month.
