Want a living room on wheels? Here are 10 sub-£10k used cars with great interiors
From velvet upholstery right through to telephones, these are a selection of uber-comfy choices for not much money
Porsche Panamera
For a fiver below this week’s budget too. This Panamera isn’t the most luxurious car featured, but the heated leather seats will likely be comfortable, the tech is usable, and there’s plenty of space to stretch after a nap. A glass sunroof and privacy glass are thrown in too.

We urge you to check out the velvet upholstery in this Toyota Crown, which looks more welcoming than a hug from the Bear who lives in a Big Blue House. That velvet even spreads across to the doors and floor mats, essentially turning this into the ultimate waft machine.
Bentley Mulsanne
And continuing the funky cabin theme is this 34-year-old Bentley Mulsanne. The red sills, surfaces and floors are met by wood trim in places like the dashboard, steering wheel and centre console. Cream leather then occupies most of the surrounding areas, with a rough head count of eleventy trillion buttons and fixtures dotted around. What a fantastic place to sit and ponder.

Compared to the last two, this Alpine B3 isn’t anything spectacular. The black leather seats are tidy, albeit a bit creased, and a strip of wood trim runs the length of the dashboard, and surrounds the gear selector and part of the steering wheel. It’s a simple design, but one that - ahem - stitches together beautifully.
Infiniti Q70
Oh Infiniti. Remember it? No? That's fine. The seats remember at least. Because they're leather memory ones. And anyway, its got a Bose surround sound system and a sunroof. Simply put: the Infiniti Q70 will do a good job at a fair price.
Audi A8
Diamond-quilted seats are always a good starting point, and they’re exactly what you’ll find in this Audi A8. Combined with the adaptive air suspension, this may be an even better place to nap than the aforementioned Panamera. Oh, you also get an umbrella holder to tell people about and never actually use. Win.
Lexus LS600h
The second car in a row with adaptive air suspension, but improves on the aesthetics with cream leather seats and dark brown trim. The big ol’ Lexus LS600 has built a wonderful reputation for cosiness and consistency over the years, so it’s a proven performer in the ‘Living Room on Wheels’ category.

There’s a lot to highlight in the cabin of this Daimler Double Six: the ribbed steering wheel, telephone (yes, telephone) and the cluster of circle gauges are all standout features. The main thing for us is the sheer quality and grade of the interior. To say it’s a peach would be a drastic understatement.
Mercedes-Benz S500
But not one of the S-Classes you were expecting: this is a third-generation W140 in long-wheelbase form. There are various shades of grey used around the interior to give it a business-y feel, while the blue window tints are a nice touch.

Alas, we arrive at this week’s wildcard: a Citroen DS tagged with an asking price of circa £8,000. There’s a fair amount of work required to get it back up to shape and condition, but put the time, effort and money in, and you’ll end up with what’s often considered to be the most comfortable car of all time.
