The Top Gear car review:Jeep Renegade
Running costs and reliability
Difficult to call this one at the time of writing, because Jeep’s new engines lack consumption and emission certification and prices are yet to be finalised. Judging by the outgoing model, expect prices to sit between conventional mini-crossovers and larger family models, with the caveats that Jeeps tend to come well equipped and you’re paying for off-road cachet, even in the front-drive examples.
There’s a plethora of safety systems as standard: lane-departure warning alarms, road sign reading, and front collision warning with autonomous emergency braking is thrown in across the board, with a fully active parking assistant also joining the options list towards the close of 2018.
