McLaren 570S

Overall verdict

The Top Gear car review:McLaren 570S

What is it like on the road?

McLaren claims that this is their everyday supercar, a rival to the Audi R8 and Porsche 911 Turbo. It’s not as forgiving and easy-going as they are: it neither rides as gently as the Audi nor has the Porsche’s superb all round ease and traction. And it’s rear-drive only where they are both 4wd.

However, you could drive it every day without being labeled a masochist, the trade off being that when you get on a good bit of road, you’ll be having a much, much better time. The 570S is a wonderful driver’s car. The steering and brake feel is astonishing, the chassis has been beautifully set up and the ride composure is superb. It’s so accurate and the power delivery is so crisp, so strong and so addictive that you get swept along in the whole experience.

How about something completely different?

Noble M600

Noble M600. Another British supercar, but equally potent and equally good to drive. Just comes with fewer creature comforts.
