CUPRA’s electronic differential lock meant the gathered readers could maximise traction and acceleration in all conditions, as well as playing with five driving profiles, with Comfort, Sport and CUPRA mode ramping up the car’s throttle response, steering weight, engine note and suspension stiffness to make the most of the tight and technical track.

The group had the chance to try the optional Dynamic Chassis Control, while bespoke Brembo brakes meant powerful, assured stopping power; the fast-acting traction and stability control could also be manually disabled for an extra handling challenge.

The CUPRA Formentor e-HYBRIDs – in 204PS and 245PS form – both proved themselves on the day, and capable of covering up to 37 miles on zero-emission electric power alone.
