KICK Sauber F1 Team is here to hustle harder

As the new F1 season gets into gear, KICK Sauber F1 Team sneaks its C45 across London for an epic spectacle

London has seen its fair share of heists – some legendary, some ludicrous – but there’s one you haven’t heard of: KICK Sauber F1 Team’s London Hustle.

You may have seen the epic livery reveal of the C45 – KICK Sauber F1 Team’s green and black 2025 F1 challenger. Fourteen thousand live audience members and millions of fans online tuned in to its unveiling at F1 75 LIVE, Formula One’s historic joint car launch, celebrating the sport’s 75th anniversary at The O2 Arena in London. But once KICK Sauber’s neon drummers had put down their sticks, the covers were thrown off the C45 and the laser lights cut, KICK Sauber had one final move – to secretly place it next to another wonder of precision engineering and beauty: London’s Tower Bridge.

As Sauber Motorsport’s Chief Operating Officer, Mattia Binotto, said on stage, this car and team are built to grind, to hustle, and to push forward in one of the most competitive grids in Formula One history. So, while everyone else went to bed, KICK Sauber’s Avengers assembled, running on little more than adrenaline and Swiss precision. Parts were ferried across London by black cab, red bus and e-bikes, secretly extricating KICK Sauber’s green and black race car under the cover of darkness, in a city that never fully sleeps.

It’s a fitting image for the year ahead. KICK Sauber’s dedicated team has been beavering away, determined to unlock performance over the winter break. Given that this year’s F1 regulations remain similar to last season’s, the C45 is both an evolution and a revolution – a testament to the hard work of countless individuals.

The C45 isn’t just a mild update – it’s an evolution. With a full aerodynamic overhaul, new front and rear suspension, weight reduction, and optimised cooling systems, it’s built to be sharper, lighter, and, above all, quicker. James Key, the team’s Technical Director, describes it as "a balance of refinement and reinvention".

Binotto echoed the sentiment, "We have made significant advancements in aerodynamics, efficiency, and overall balance, all of which will be key in making us more competitive throughout the season."

There are some fresh faces in the Sauber team, too. Nico Hulkenberg, returning to Sauber, brings experience and a tenacious attitude for progress. He’s paired with F1 rookie and Formula 2 champion Gabriel Bortoleto.

"The road ahead is long, but our future is taking shape day by day. It feels great to be part of this journey, and together with Gabriel, I want to play my role in driving our progress forward," said Nico.
