Want to drive three Porsche 911s in one day?

Experience the 911 Carrera T, 911 Targa 4 GTS and 911 GT3 all in one day

There are cars, and then there’s the Porsche 911. For more than 60 years, it has been the sports car benchmark. It is the one car that can do excitement, everyday usability and outright speed without feeling compromised in any direction. Which is why Porsche’s exclusive offer is so incredible: you can drive three very different Porsche 911s in a single day.

On 5 or 6 May, at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone, this exclusive package lets you get behind the wheel of a 911 Carrera T, 911 Targa 4 GTS and 911 GT3 back-to-back, so you can sample three distinct versions of the all-time greatest sports car and bring a plus one along for a ride too. One is light, manual and gloriously old-school. One is fast, open-topped and packed with new hybrid tech. One is a high-revving, track-honed weapon. All of them are 911s. All of them are at Porsche’s dedicated Experience Centre at Silverstone. And the whole thing costs £480.

Over the course of the day, you’ll drive a Carrera T, which is the sort of 911 for people who like driving for the sake of driving. It gets a manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive and just the right amount of focus, plus 389bhp, 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 183mph. It is the purist’s choice, and the one most likely to make you feel smug about still liking an actual gear lever.

Then there is the 911 Targa 4 GTS, which brings a bit more muscle and a lot more drama. This one uses Porsche’s new T-Hybrid system, so alongside the extra shove there is some very clever motorsport-derived engineering going on underneath. The numbers are serious: 534bhp, 0-62mph in 3.1 seconds, and 194mph flat out. Better yet, it is a Targa, so you can drop the roof and hear the whole thing doing its work properly.

And then, because subtlety is overrated, you get a go in the 911 GT3. This is the sharp one. The serious one. The one with the 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six that spins all the way to 9,000rpm and sounds like heaven. It is as close as road cars get to race cars, and it is the perfect way to round off a day of finding out just how broad the 911’s bandwidth really is.

The setting does not hurt, either. The Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone sits right in the middle of the UK’s most famous circuit, with views across the Grand Prix track and Hangar Straight. And this is not some token bit of tarmac with a few cones thrown at it. The facility has nearly 5km of driving areas, including two handling circuits, acceleration and braking straights, a kick plate, ice hill, a low-friction circuit and an off-road course. In other words, plenty of space to explore what these cars can do in properly controlled conditions, with an instructor alongside to help you get the most from them.

For £480 you will get three 25-minute drives, while your plus-one gets a 15-minute passenger ride in one of the 911s with a professional driver at the wheel.

Catering is included in Porsche’s restaurant and when you are not out on track there will be plenty to look at in the main building too, including a selection of classic Porsche models to admire while waiting for your turn to attack the GT3’s red line.

So what are you waiting for? This is not just a chance to drive a 911, but to understand why the 911 remains the definitive sports car by trying three of them in one hit. Whether you want to sharpen your skills, tick a few bucket-list cars off in one go, or simply spend a day doing something excellent at Silverstone, this feels like a very good way to do it.

Spaces are limited for this Porsche special offer package, so to book your place, call 01327 855911 (Mon-Sat 9am-6pm) and quote ‘Porsche911PEC’. This bespoke package is being made available, on a first come, first served basis, for a rate of £480, compared with the normal £978.
