This man built a DeLorean monster truck…

Sometimes, a chance meeting in life leads you to the path of enlightenment. For 50-year old software engineer Rich Weissensel, it was meeting DeLorean founder John DeLorean in 2000. His enlightenment? The realisation that he must build a DeLorean MONSTER TRUCK.

Welcome, everyone, to how a Back To The Future film might look if it was made by Michael Bay. Rich has spent 14 years crafting a fleet of modified DeLoreans to sate his passion for Doc Brown's iconic motor.

So, Rich has built a DeLorean monster truck. He's built a DeLorean hovercraft. There's a DeLorean limousine - complete with three sets of gullwing doors - along with a DeLorean convertible and a ‘regular' car.

"I met John DeLorean at one of the DeLorean car shows," said our intrepid hero, "I showed him some of my sketches and told him I'd like to build something like this, and he probably thought I was a little bit crazy, but said ‘if you think you can do it, go for it'."

So, Rich went for it. He really did. Watch the, um, inspiring video offered up by the nice people at Barcroft Cars, give a hat-tip to Rich's tirelessness and fearlessness, and give a tiny salute to the excellent narrator too. Ahem.
