Here’s your first look at a new V12 hypercar designed by Pininfarina
Only 50 of these things will be built courtesy of new carmaker ‘Vittori’
It doesn’t have a name, but it has a purpose: speed and power and something that looks pretty. It comes via a new company called ‘Vittori’ which has enlisted noted design enthusiasts Pininfarina to sketch it out. Vittori might be headquarted in the US, but it'll be built - and designed - in Italy.
We’ll leave the whole ‘pretty’ bit up to you – looks decent to us, if a little generic – but as to the speed and power bit… yeah, we’ll have to leave that up to you too. Because Vittori and Pininfarina have yet to divulge any actual powertrain or performance details.
Wait, come back! If you look closely above, there is an image of an engine with two angled banks bearing six ports a piece, and 12 pipes sitting proudly on top. From this, TopGear.com can confidently predict it is a V12. A new V12!
Vittori said this new ‘propietary’ powertrain will be developed by a company called Italtecnica. If you’ve recently re-read your copy of Boutique Carmakers With New V12 Hypercars, you’ll remember Italtecnica is also doing the V12 for the Garagisti & Co GP1.
Vittori’s one will be a hybrid, and it’ll offer “power at your fingertips”. Better than at your ears, one suspects. Elsewhere, Vittori has focused on aero via an active rear wing, and putting some physical controls inside (along with the obligatory screen, but a small one).
This car will debut in Miami later this month, and we’re assured it’s a “running concept” that is “just the beginning of Vittori’s journey towards the production version”. Speaking of which, just 50 hypercars will be built. No price, but that'll be revealed... along with its name.
