Singer is celebrating the 911 Turbo’s 50th anniversary

For those wondering what Singer’s been up to of late, here you go: it’s a quartet of vintage 911 Turbos to commemorate the legendary badge’s half-century. Nope, we can’t believe it's been that long either.

The lineup includes a cabriolet, targa, coupe and slantnose coupe - with only 25 allocations of the latter available, and all already sold. Dammit… we were only 79 years away from affording one.

Anyway, said reimaginings will continue to use an uprated version of the original Mezger flat-six powertrains, but thanks to a new twin-turbo system and intercooler, the output now sits at 517bhp. No fancy schmancy transmissions here either: it’s a good old six-speed manual that’s channelling that thrust to the rear set of those Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.

The old guard is further aided by a few modern embellishments that we can get on board with, though, including traction and electronic stability control provided by Bosch. No mention of Apple CarPlay integration sadly. Perhaps you can spec that in?

As is the way with Singer, these cars remain true to their original copies from a design perspective, albeit with a few small changes. The wheel arches have been widened, while the darkened exterior trim has got a bit more contour in places and the exhausts have been repositioned.

No word as yet on pricing or just how many allocations remain for the three other versions (if indeed there are any). Reckon this is a fitting tribute for the Turbo?
