Ford Ranger news - Ford Ranger rounds 'em up - 2006

Published: 10 Mar 2006

Budding British rednecks will be frothing at the prospect of the new Ford Ranger.

They'll have to keep frothing until September this year, however, when the new model goes on sale in the UK.

The styling is a more rounded version of the current car's, while under the bonnet is a new 2.5-litre turbodiesel that boosts power to 141bhp.

Ford tells us the new Ranger will be more saloon-like to drive, while four-wheel drive can now be engaged on the move.

There's more interior space, a glitzed-up dashboard and a CD player, while cargo space has been increased.

Prices are expected to start at £11,500 for the most basic commercial model, going up to £20,000 for the full-on double-cab with all the bells, whistles and banjos.
