Ford Transit news - Ford tunes up its Transit - 2006

The Ford Transit has come in for a spot of mid-life face tweakery.

A redesigned front end is the most obvious change, and Ford has redesigned the dashboard, as well as offering such luxury as leather seats for the cab.

There are no less than six diesel engine options, including new 2.2- and 2.4-litre diesels attached to five- or six-speed Durashift sequential manual gearboxes.

But the bit we're really interested in is the improved handling. Makes us wonder just how quickly Sabine Schmidt could get around the Nürburgring in a Transit now?
