Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG news - Mercedes piles on the power - 2006
Mercedes is going to extremes at Geneva with one outrageously powerful engine and one that claims to be the world's cleanest diesel.
The power comes in the form of the CLK63 AMG, which keen students of power-packing Mercs will deduce is a CLK coupe with a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 motor.
This powerhouse churns out 481bhp and 465lb ft of torque to shift the CLK from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and on to a limited 155mph.
On a greener note, the Vision CLS 320 Bluetec is, Mercedes claims, the world's cleanest diesel engine.
Based on Merc's existing 3.2 V6 turbodiesel, the Bluetec engine reduces nitrogen oxide emissions.
Expect to see Bluetec diesels on sale in Europe in 2006.
