Reckon you’re faster than Top Gear? Time to prove it

We’ve progressed from throwing the controller at the screen to some actual skill. Yep, here at TG, we’d like to think we’ve gotten rather good at Forza Motorsport 6.

So much so, we’re throwing down a gauntlet. Every month, a member of the TG team will set a lap time around a different circuit with a different car. This is where you lot come in: if you think you’re quicker than us, you simply have to try and beat it.

Our Forza Motorsport 6 TG Challenge kicks off today, and to get you started, we’ve already set a time around our Dunsfold test track in Jaguar’s F-Type Project 7 (a car that’s part of the recently launched TG car pack).

It’s a completely standard car – we had all the electronic nannies turned off, but you’re allowed to keep them on – and recorded a lap time from a rolling start of 1:17:115. Have a watch of the video above. That's your benchmark... for now, anyway.

You’ll have until 26 April to record your time – which must be on the same track in the same car – and we’ll post a leaderboard on TopGear.com with the fastest times once it’s all finished to let you know how you fare. Don't forget to record footage of your best lap using Upload Studio, upload the footage to OneDrive and share the links to the video in the comments section below.

Oh, and there are no prizes for posting the fastest time, other than the pride of knowing you thrashed our resident TG gaming expert. Think you can beat it? Step right up…
