A shock sixth series of Netflix show Stranger Things where the fictional town of Hawkins fights off a mutant Yugo is in the works, according to sources close to the project.

Despite confirming the current fifth series as its last, producers on the hit show were compelled to expand the story after stumbling upon the ‘unbelievable horror’ of the original Yugo.

Now, the so-called ‘worst car of the 1980s’ will become the sixth series’ main villain as they struggle to destroy it once and for all.

“We’ve spent five glorious seasons paying homage to Steven Spielberg and Stephen King with a roster of brilliant villains, like the Spider Monster, D’Artagnan, Demogorgons, the Mind Flayer and of course, the terrifying Vecna.

“But nothing compares to the unbridled horror of a 1980s Yugo with questionable fit and finish, a 0-60mph time measured in seasons and all the aesthetic charm of a rash.

“The Mind Flayer might be a giant sentient spider able to control others through terrifying psychic abilities, but viewers of our sixth series will be scared witless by the sight and sound of a rusted, mutated Yugo attempting a corner at medium speed.

“Yeah, this series is strictly for the adults. No child should ever witness such dread.

“Wait, what? They’re bringing the Yugo back? God help us all,” the source added.
