This one-off, wild Pagani Huayra is up for sale
Lapo Elkann's personalised hypercar is inspired by a 50s Fiat concept
Now’s your chance to buy something direct from the mind of TG’s favourite extrovert, Lapo Elkann. The Pagani Huayra he commissioned last year has popped up for sale in the US, having covered just five miles since he took delivery in December.
It’s called the ‘Lampo’ – which is Italian for lightening – and is styled after the gas-turbine-powered Fiat Turbina Concept of 1954. Like it or not, there’s no denying the craftsmanship at work here. The body mixes exposed, orange-tined carbon with “lively and vivid” white paint. Inside it’s hand-braided brown leather, mixed with anodised aluminium.
Unlike the Turbina, the Lamp is not powered by a gas turbine, but by the Huayra’s normal 6.0-litre V12, which is good for around 750bhp. It also gets the Tempesta Pack, which adds larger front openings, plus new aero elements on the front splitter and sills.
The inherent issue with the level of personalisation offered by Pagani, Bugatti, McLaren and so-on, is that if you get too carried away, no-one will want to buy your car once you’ve bored of it. We suspect this one isn’t going to be an easy sell. Especially because it’s likely to command a fairly ‘special’ price. Check the listing here.
