The Stig has ruined Countryfile

Our tame racing driver tests a V8-engined tractor. Drifts it. And gatecrashes a show

Motorists of Britain, fear not: Top Gear is here to help.

In the upcoming new series of TG TV, Matt LeBlanc and Chris Harris set out to solve the biggest problem currently facing Britain's roads: tractors.

Sure, they're great at... tractoring, but out on the public highway they're simply too slow. The tractor is holding up Britain, and it's Top Gear's mission to rectify this. With the aid of approximately 500 horsepower of V8 engine and the engineering prowess of MLB, who promised he definitely knew what he was doing.

As you can see from the photos above, it all turned out surprisingly well. Until, following a series of tests – drifting, a meeting with a Porsche and something to do with frozen veg – we handed it over to our tame racing driver.

And that’s where it all went a bit wrong. Sorry, Countryfile. You see, in an effort to test our TrackTor’s credentials, The Stig may have somehow gatecrashed the Countryfile farm in Gloucestershire. During filming.

Presenter Ellie Harrison may or may not have been soaked during a high speed run. And presenter John Craven may or may not have been rudely interrupted by a V8-engined tractor during a piece to camera.

You’ll be able to see the whole catastrophe unfold in front of your eyes next year, on both Countryfile and Top Gear.
