Meet the V8, analogue hypercar from a company you've never heard of
TG walks you around the Capricorn 01 Zagato from a company that's spent years building fast things for other people
Here we are then. Another day, another super-hyper-mega-thing whose shape is dictated by wind tunnels and aero additions, and whose purpose is to blitz around the world's racetracks.
[Record scratch] Except, this one really isn't. It's called the Capricorn 01 Zagato, and it's been built by a mysterious company called... the Capricorn Group. Said company has in fact spent decades contributing to some of the world's fastest and most amazing machinery.
Like the Bugatti Veyron. Bugatti Chiron. Bugattis Mistral and Bolide. The McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS’s active wing. The innards of Audi’s much-missed R8. So it's got plenty of experience in 'speed'.
Now, it has decided to stop doing everyone else's homework, and focus on its own project, with a little help from Italian maestros Zagato. Hence why it looks less like a state-of-the-art racing car, and more like a 1960s endurance prototype. For reference, 1960s endurance prototypes are cool.
