Running costs and reliability

Loads of boot space, rear seats, easy to drive… living with a TT will be quite easy indeed. Company car users may mourn the loss of the diesel version, but Audi insists sales were only really big in the UK, and post-dieselgate, those have shrunk too. So it’s only natural that its time was up.

The TT’s updates have only just been announced, so as it stands, final pricing and running costs haven’t been revealed, and are hard to estimate in the new age of real-world fuel and emissions testing. It’s a bunch of petrol engines we’re familiar with, though, and driven sensibly they can return pretty strong economy. Get the five-cylinder TT RS and the desire to drive sensibly might wane, though, especially if you regularly drive through any kind of tunnel…
