Which JCW are you? Five cars. One badge. Loads of fun.

The new MINI John Cooper Works range is here. But which one suits your vibe?

There’s something gloriously cheeky about a John Cooper Works MINI. Always has been. They’re what you get when ‘FUN’ is highlighted and circled on the design moodboard. Honed from motorsport, built for the track, but engaging and engineered for the day-to-day in a way that makes you want Eau Rouge to appear somewhere on the school run.

That’s because every JCW model is steeped in motorsport. Not pretend motorsport. Actual, real-world, chequered-flag-winning motorsport.

And now, MINI has unleashed an entirely new JCW line-up for every kind of driver – and every kind of drive. Five cars. Petrol or electric. . All fast. All feral. All unmistakably MINI.

The new MINI John Cooper Works Hatch is where it all starts. The OG. It’s the classic MINI, condensed and caffeinated. With 170 kW, a 0–100 km/h time of 6.1 seconds, and a chassis that’s been dialled in for proper track antics. Short wheelbase. Stifferdampers. Sportier brakes. They all come together for an unforgettable experience – on track and road.

But if you prefer your mischief with a bit more vitamin D, the JCW Convertible is for you. It takes the same turbocharged terrier engine and removes the roof. Retracting completely in just 18 seconds, with nothing above your head, you hear those distinctively cheeky, sporty pops and bangs as they bark through the single exhaust pipe. It’s an open-top riot, tuned for twisties.

Need more muscle? The JCW Countryman ALL4 maximises speed and power with 233 kW. Let’s say that again: ever. 233 kW. All-wheel drive. 0–100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. This is a JCW for grown-ups – the one with space for bikes, dogs, and ambition. With its raised stance, intelligent ALL4 all-wheel drive, and blistering acceleration, handling, response and traction, it’s just as comfortable flattening kerbs at a track day as it is going on a weekend adventure away.

But this isn’t just about petrol power anymore. Now you’ve got new JCW flavours to try. The first-ever All-Electric JCW Hatch takes everything you expect from the badge – instant throttle response, predictable handling, energetic chassis – and overlays it with 190 kW of battery-fed urgency. It’s whisper-quiet but wild. And with a 0–100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds, it’s no slouch either – thanks to E-Launch Control: a special tune that enables smoother, faster acceleration from a standing start in your all-electric JCW to give you the maximum go-kart feel.

Then there’s the wildcard: the all-electric JCW Aceman. A compact crossover that’s big on fun and surprisingly practical, with room for five and 355 km of range. But don’t be fooled – this isn’t your average EV. With 350 Nm of torque and steering that’s sharper than a scalpel, it’s a proper driver’s car. A new kind of MINI. Still cheeky. Still chuckable. Still JCW.

What ties them all together? That badge. That history. That promise. Because JCW isn’t just letters on the boot – it’s the most hardcore expression of MINI’s DNA. Every car sits lower. Feels tauter. Looks angrier. Each one is built with performance baked in.

And beyond the driving experience, there’s the personalisation. No two JCWs need to look the same. With different paint finishes, optional red or black bonnet stripes with MINI logos, up to 20-inch JCW wheel designs – from Union Jack details to race-inspired touches – as well as a host of JCW accessories, every car can be tailored to you and your vibe.

All cars come with a thoughtfully designed, sporty cockpit housing a JCW sports steering wheel and high-resolution OLED display. With a diameter of 240 mm, the new central cluster gives you all the relevant information you need.

So, which JCW are you? The track day purist? The weekend cruiser? The family adventurer? The city sprinter? The electric renegade?

Either way, there’s a JCW for you. Petrol or electric. Roof on or off. JCW isn’t just a badge. It’s a promise – a promise of fun.
