Alfa 147 GTA news - Distraught Croat sues mechanic - 2006

Published: 14 Mar 2006

It's tricky to have sympathy for someone suffering from stress after they've bought an Alfa 147 GTA, but a Croatian man is suing his mechanic after suffering a nervous breakdown.

After noticing problems with the brakes, Josip Lerga from Zadar took the car to his local garage to have it fixed.

Forty-five days later, Lerga finally got the car back, only for it to break down the next day.

Since then, Lerga has experienced continual hassle with his Alfa and said: "I first suffered high blood pressure because of problems with the car, then heart problems and finally psychiatric trouble."

The case continues and Mr Lerga is demanding £33,000 in compensation.
