The EV Fun Concept previews Honda’s first all-electric sports bike

Here’s hoping Honda thinks up a new name before the production version goes on sale in 2025

Published: 13 Nov 2024

Honda has big plans to have no fewer than 30 different electric motorcycles on sale globally by 2030, and this latest concept previews its very first EV sports bike.

Rather embarrassingly, the concept you see here is called the ‘EV Fun Concept’, but at least it does look excellent with its naked style, sharp lines and exposed battery pack. A production version will go on sale in 2025.

There are few details available on the EV Fun Concept, but Honda does say that it would have performance equivalent to a "mid-sized internal combustion engine motorcycle". It also says the battery is fixed in place, and can be recharged using a standard CCS2 charger. Oh, and it should provide enough juice for over 62 miles of range.

Apparently, the lightweight battery was designed using Honda’s learnings from electric cars, and the bike will apparently embrace the “quiet, vibration-free ride” that you get from an electric motor.

Beyond the sports bike, Honda also wants to become “the leading company for electric motorcycles”. Reckon it’ll stick the landing?
