C63 AMG drifts around Laguna Seca
The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe doesn’t get the new, 5.5-litre twin turbo V8 being rolled out steadily across the AMG range. It retains the fire-breathing 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8. This is good.
Why so? Because that engine sounds utterly, utterly delicious. Think a platoon of metallic bees heading into the apocalypse; the sound of a thousand metal-hoofed horses galloping to meet Hades himself; a really, really angry Terminator.
So you’ll want to watch this video, because this free-breathing V8 has an astonishing effect on rear tyres. Mercedes has announced its official AMG YouTube channel has just reached two million views, and to celebrate, took a C63 AMG Coupe to the Laguna Seca circuit in California and drifted the corkscrew.See more pics of the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe
But this isn’t some bizarre sexual practice. No, it is simply a 451bhp drift machine tackling one of the world’s most famous racetrack corners. Yes please.
