Wallpapers: new Renault Alpine concept meets its A110 grandfather
Cheer your desktop with a celebration of Alpine old and new
Look at it. Seriously, just look at it. Small, branded with a proper badge, with the engine in the right place and cheeky looks that make you want to grab it by the scruff of the neck and fang it around some winding roads above Monaco.
But, if you’re not of a certain age or a keen rally enthusiast, Renault’s Alpine concept – and the marque it references – may’ve snuck under your radar.
It’s worth genning up on Alpine, though, for this concept represents a welcome return of the Renault sub-brand with more than a fancy for racing.
Famed for rallying, Alpine won the World Rally Championship in 1973 but also contested Le Mans 11 times before Renault focused on Formula One, and some new-fangled technology called turbocharging.
Officially, this Celebration is nothing more than a fancy design study/four-wheeled birthday cake to celebrate Alpine’s 60th anniversary.
But, having and asked some forceful questions to important Alpine people, we know it’s also a thinly-disguised production car.
We can’t wait. So as a little celebration of the, um, Celebration, we decided to wheel its granddad – the scintillating A110 – into a photo studio for a family gathering.
You can read more about the Celebration and how it came to be here.
