The Mustang Mach-E configurator is already live
Play with pretty colours on Ford’s all-new, all-electric SUV
After a few teasers and what seemed like an agonisingly long wait, Ford has finally shown the all-electric Mustang Mach-E to the world. What do you reckon to the looks/the name/the powertrain, Internet?
Well, if you’re one of those who likes it, you’re in luck. Ford has already launched the configurator on its website for people to place pre-orders, and as you’ll well know if you read TG.com as often as you should, we like nothing more than wasting a lunch break speccing up different new cars.
No doubt there’ll be more option boxes to tick in the near future, but for now a little play around goes a long way to showing what kit comes with each trim level.
Little tip, Ford’s US site has a wider variety of choice than the UK one – Americans can even spec up a GT, which is supposedly still six months or so away. As well as the contrast-coloured ‘grille’ and larger 20-inch wheels, the GT gets 465bhp and a sub-5.0sec 0-62mph time.
The most eye-catching Mach-E paint is the ‘Grabber Blue Metallic’ which is available on the limited-run First Edition cars. Standard and extended range RWD or AWD models get ‘Rapid Red Metallic’ or varying shades of black/grey/white – one of which has a slight blue tinge. The base-spec Mach-E features a slightly cheaper looking grille surround too.
Hopefully in the coming weeks and months we’ll be able to mess around more with different wheels and optional extras, as well as seeing a few more interior trim levels. For now though, click these blue words and explore, then head back here to convey your opinions.
